Charcoal powder and maskingtape on wood

Garden Of Independence is a series of drawings made around and within wandering through The Independence Garden in Jerusalem, moments before its closure to the general public.

Each raw wooden panel is covered with strips of masking tape, resembling scaffolding on a building from which the work begins. Using the most minimal material basis - water and charcoal powder - and the encounter between them, the charcoal is moved across the scaffolding, as if searching for its place within the structure: the exposed form, the fence to be built, the walls that enclose.
