Ariel Malka, born in Rosh Ha’ayin (1998) is a visual artist working with drawing and installation. She holds a BFA in Art from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, lives in Tel Aviv, and is a co-founder of the Yamim Collective.
Her practice explores material, time, and the boundaries of space. Working from a physical, bodily impulse, she draws with charcoal and pencil on surfaces marked by encounters with organic matter, water, and the residues these leave behind. Through layers of charcoal powder that spread across the surface and incised lines that seek to fix them in place, Malka investigates the material’s capacity to settle into permanence or pass away.
Extending these concerns into space, her installations examine the limits that define and contain it, exploring the relationships between floor and ceiling, volume and emptiness, and the viewer’s position within a space. Her work dwells in the tension of a dual moment that resists resolution, lingering at the threshold from which a new state begins.
